Purpose of the job

We are seeking to recruit a Key Account Manager who will be responsible for the execution of agreed sales and profitability targets established by the SMU within the Benelux sales area by acquiring new business and maintaining existing customers. The Focus Area in this role is on key high-profile accounts in the Wind Power Segment primarily in the Netherlands & Belgium. In this role you will actively manage and develop these accounts to generate business growth, ensure strategic management of key accounts in the Protective Coatings sector for the Benelux & UKI cluster.

Key responsibilities

As a dedicated professional, this role plays a crucial part in rolling out sales programs, implementing solutions, and driving business growth in the designated market. By closely collaborating with marketing, identifying business opportunities, and applying effective sales strategies, the focus is on enhancing customer relationships and market penetration. From analyzing market trends to managing key accounts and fostering a positive company image, this position actively contributes to the company's success.

  • Generating sustainable, profitable business for selected Protective Coatings Sales Accounts with strategic importance to Benelux as directed or agreed with line management.
  • Responsibility of forecasting complexity and full coordination of Major Wind Power related projects with Management Demand team and Supply teams.
  • Commercial point of contact for pricing renegotiations with Key accounts mentioned in the above.
  • Working closely with Wind Global KAM team & Liaison Aad Bosselaar on project contract chain.
  • Active member & contributor for the Wind FSG group.
  • Linking contract chain through collaboration with European Specification Team and Global KAM Team to secure key projects in Benelux (or via subcontracting elsewhere)
  • Supporting KAM and Specification Selling team focusing on driving, securing and executing specification positions in Wind Power projects across Europe.
  • Lead tenders for projects, contract implementation, develop/implement initiatives, support local sales activity, support claim handling, set and deliver budget for target accounts
  • Coordination of resources as needed to achieve objectives, in close alignment with local, Europe and outside Europe PC sales teams.
  • Create and execute Key Account Plans for Key Account and portfolio, aligned with Regional / Global Segment & Marketing plans
  • Develop relevant Commercial pipeline for account portfolio in CRM
  • Accurate forecasting of future and ongoing projects for own portfolio in CRM as input to Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
  • Enhance Key Account management capability across the entire organization and across all functions
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including relevant teams at the key accounts to prioritize new developments, make plans for trials, etc.
  • Provide support and leadership to sales, customer services and technical teams by showing vision, putting in resources to ensure high service levels and operational efficiency
  • Steward new business development projects opposite targeted account requirements
  • Contribute to and provide input for Market Intelligence New product development

What do you bring?

  • 8-10 years of experience in the paints and coatings or B2B industry.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Skills in leadership, stakeholder management, project management, decision-making, and communication.
  • Results-oriented with a commercial and business acumen, understanding of cross-functional processes, and financial concepts related to sales and cost-to-serve.

The position is based in Barendrecht. This position requires approximately 20% travel, primarily in Europe.
